Upper Yosemite Falls 9514A
On this trip to Yosemite National Park, one of my favorite places to visit and photograph, my goal was to find some new locations or at least some new perspectives of classic iconic images.
This image was framed from Ahwahnee Meadow, an open area between The Ahwahnee, Camp Curry, and Yosemite Lodge. I used a 70-300 mm lens and pointed the camera to the base of Upper Yosemite Falls.
From this location I was able to isolate three trees in front of Upper Yosemite Fall. The falls were well lit by the morning sunlight but the adjacent granite wall was still in shadow, creating contrast that makes the water pop! A somewhat fast shutter speed (1/640) captured the falls spray detail.
