Black Oaks of Yosemite

Yosemite National Park is one of my favorite places on Earth. Around every corner are an endless number of new photo opportunities. A couple years ago in February 2009 while driving west on Northside Drive near El Capitan Meadow I found this cluster of Black Oak trees. The snow was several days old so the trees were wet and I loved the stark contrast of black barren trees surrounded by a field of white snow. Fog on the other side of the meadow adds to the separation of trees from background elements. You can see a larger version of this image and more Yosemite photos at this link. Comments
